Data You Give Us Directly
Search Queries
A name or place entered in a search box is sent directly to the outside provider that operates the tool. That company processes the query and supplies its result. We do not keep or log those search terms on our own systems.
Messages and Contact Submissions
We retain an email or contact submission as needed to respond. It remains within our organization unless disclosure is required by law.
Data We Gather Automatically
Our servers receive routine technical information when a page loads, including:
- Page-view times and the pages opened
- Browser name and version
- Device category and operating system
- Device IP address
- Time spent on visited pages
- A referring website, when one exists
Cookies and Analytics
Cookies are small device files that help measure traffic, popular pages, and points where visits end. Analytics providers combine that usage data for us. A browser can block cookies, although doing so may change how some features work.
What We Do With This Data
- Finding and repairing performance or technical problems
- Operating the site and improving load times
- Routing search input to the selected partner
- Measuring which pages are useful
- Displaying advertising that may reflect visitor interests
No Criminal-Record Data on File
We do not maintain, compile, or sell a database of personal criminal records. Our content identifies official Osceola County sources such as the sheriff, trial courts, Michigan State Police and ICHAT, and the Michigan Public Sex Offender Registry. Visitor data is not assembled into records about third parties or into consumer reports. We are not a consumer reporting agency under the Fair Credit Reporting Act.
Third-Party Search Partners
Outside companies operate the search boxes. Their own privacy policies govern submitted data, retention, and sharing. We cannot control those practices, so review the provider's policy before running a query.
Links to Other Websites
Links may lead to courts, the sheriff, Michigan agencies, legal-aid resources, or outside search tools. Once a visitor follows a link, the destination's privacy rules apply. Read them before providing personal data.
Some advertising providers may use their own systems to measure activity across websites and select targeted ads.
Who Might See Your Data
We do not sell personal information. Data may be received by:
- Analytics providers measuring site traffic and function
- Search partners processing a submitted query
- Advertising networks serving page ads
- A government or law-enforcement body acting under a valid legal order
How We Protect Your Data
We use standard safeguards for collected information. No internet service can guarantee perfect security, however, and we cannot promise that a breach will never occur.
Users Under 18
This resource is intended for adults, and we do not knowingly collect personal data from anyone younger than 18. If we learn that a minor provided such data, we will delete it.
Your Data Rights
Rights can vary with a visitor's location. Michigan public-record access is governed by the Michigan Freedom of Information Act, MCL 15.231-15.246, while dissemination of state criminal-history information is addressed by MCL 28.241a. Those laws govern official public bodies and records, not a promise that this private site holds government files. Subject to applicable law, you may:
- Request deletion of personal data we hold
- Ask what personal information we maintain about you
- Seek correction of inaccurate information
- Object to certain forms of processing
Updates to This Policy
This policy may be revised. A new version becomes available here with an updated effective date, so visitors should review it periodically.
